For the Love of Wood...
Picture
I have found my style has evolved over the years, from traditional to modern to rustic eclectic.  I suppose I like that you can actually wrap all of those into one and come up with something truly unique.  But more and more I always seem to go back to "old."  Old with a pop of color that is.  Now don't get me wrong, sometimes I would love to paint everything in a rich creamy white, honey milk, bed of cotton!   I have  gotten out of my comfort zone the last few years and introduced more color to my life,  standout, fun, dreamy colors.  When I told and showed my husband what the drab kitchen hutch was about to look like, bright turquoise,  he didn't say much.  But, what he did say when I was done was, "I wasn't sure how that was going to look, but I really like it!"  Good for him for not trying to change my mind, thanks honey!     I don't paint every piece of beautiful wood I find, some are not to be touched and already have this cool, rustic vibe I so dig.  When I found my son's spindle bed, my first thought was to paint it of course!! But when I got it in the room and saw how the wood color  was a perfect play off his already painted nautical them dresser, I left well enough alone.  "Don't over do it," I said.  Glad I pulled back on that one.
So, after sick of going to countless furniture stores in the past, trying to find styles and colors I liked without breaking the bank and spending money on poorly constructed items,  I decided to start creating my own vibe.   I can't think of a better way than to really customize my home to exactly what I like, and without emptying my wallet.  This has been a fun and fulfilling journey that allows me to work with people that want to do the same for their home.

Cheers!
Mandy
